## Mathematics Placement Examination (MAPE) Information

Please Note: Not all students need to take the MAPE. See the exemptions listed above to check your eligibility for the course in which you plan to enroll.

The pre-calculus MAPE are diagnostic tests for students who have satisfied the ELM requirement and who anticipate taking either trigonometry or calculus (Math 119, 141, 161, or 221) but who have not completed the course prerequisites (see mathematics course requirements above).

The intermediate algebra MAPE is a diagnostic test for students who have satisfied the ELM requirement and who anticipate taking pre-calculus algebra (Math 118) but who have not completed the course prerequisites (see mathematics course requirements above).

The MAPE is given at Cal Poly regularly throughout the quarter, and during orientation and registration periods. Information regarding the MAPE and the times it is offered is available from the ELM/MAPE Office at (805) 756-2268.

*In March 2016, the College Board^{®} began administering a new SAT Test. The new SAT scores are different than the old SAT scores. The CSU will accept both old and new SAT scores for students graduating in 2020 and prior. Students graduating after 2020 will be required to take the new SAT Test.
